Tax Planning for Landlords Audio Conference-Saturday, March 10, 2007

CHICAGO, February 21, 2007 – CompleteLandlord.com is offering an audio conference focusing on tax planning for residential landlords. This audio conference, the first of a monthly series of audio conferences on important landlording topics, is Saturday, March 10, 2007 from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. EST. CompleteLandlord.com brings together tax planning experts who will show participants how to take full advantage of the tax breaks landlords receive under the current tax code.

Audio conference participants will learn:

  • Important factors the IRS takes into consideration when deciding if a landlord’s investment property is a legitimate business
  • Whether the insurance premiums paid on rental properties are tax deductible
  • Whether or not to declare security deposits on a tax return
  • Top tax deductions most commonly overlooked by landlords and their accountants

The presenters include:

  • John F. Michel, tax practice leader of the Cincinnati office of GrantThornton,
  • Eric Kea, partner and director of Real Estate Taxation for BDO Seidman LLP’s New York office, and
  • William Dyrcz, a tax attorney whose clients include real estate developers, landlords and commercial tenants.

The moderator is Scott Brueggeman, publisher of CompleteLandlord.com. According to Brueggeman, “Tax planning is the second most popular subject ranked by interest level (behind how to deal with problem tenants), according to a survey of over 500 landlords. As a residential landlord myself, I know how important it is to make the right decisions about tax planning from the start. We’ve put together this conference so other landlords can learn from the experts about the deductions available to them. One example is that many landlord books, forms, and even our site’s Premium Membership fees can be tax deductible.”

Brueggeman has 15 years real estate experience, including more than seven years as a landlord. He owns and operates several multi-family apartment buildings and investment properties. He received his real estate license in 2003 and is a member of the Chicago Association of Realtors and the National Association of Residential Property Managers.

The cost is $99 for those that register before 2/28/07. To register, call toll-free 877-926-8500 or online at http://www.synamicsregistration.com/reg/index.jsp?conf=dv031011
