I bought a old building (in good shape and fully rented) and pay gas and water. My gas bill was out of control last winter and ended up paying average $1500 per month. I want to replace the system with electric heat so it can be tied to their electric bill. What is the best option. I have looked at Mini split system etc., any one who has done that would be great to hear from.thanks

Hi folks, here my problem. One of our tenants moved out and did not pay his gas bill, which was in his name. Now the gas company is trying to charge us for his bill and have put our company name on the bill. They were told he moved and the gas company even tried to reach him personnally and to no avail they can not find him. So they have decided to try and get the money from the landlord. There is no written agreement with this company that we take on a tenants bill. If we had to do this we would not be able to be in business. Can they do this? This is our first rentals. Please help. Thanks

The tenants utilities are in my name and they are not being paid. I have a stipend amount that is covered in the lease anything over that amount they are to pay. We are currently have an eviction court date. Can I legally turn off the utilities?

My tenant has changed the door locks, so I cannot enter. Is she allowed to change the locks?? What do I do if she is not allowed to do this?
