I understand that this posting is a year old, but I tried to get a credit report done with E-renter and it wants me to enter all the information and then get a hold of my potential renter to do something online...first time using e-renter. Is there a better site that I can use since I have their information and permission (in writing) to do this?

So now I have paid for the e-renter, but not sure if I can use it.

Tenant Screen

Complete Landlord uses E-renter.com. Due to changes in the Credit reporting laws (TransUnion) they can no longer support most small businesses. They have provided a great service in the past, but no more. The Federal Trade Commission (www.ftc.gov) is in charge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). If there is a way to overcome this issue let me know. We want to remain a small business, but are not willing to be treated as business outcasts.

TENANT SCREENING

YES ALWAYS CHECK TENANTS OUT! Look for credit score to be in the high 6's or more. Call past landlords, and be aware of how often they move. If you can see inside the auto that they drive notice if it is clean and looks like they take care of it. If you get red flags .pay attentin to them! and run like the wind!

KEEP IN MIND: You must have a written release from the prespective tenent before you you can run any background screen, if not he or she can and should sue you.
