I have tenants who have always paid a day or so late, and I never charged them the lte fees, but this time I went out of town for over a month and got their check right before I was supposed to leave for my trip, I put the check in an out of state bank as soon as I found one, but a few days later it bounced, and I was charged insufficient funds charges for checks I wrote that bounced because their check bounced. What I want to know is can I charge them the additional cost for the bounced checks that the bounced rent check caused?
Should I just evict for non payment?
My rental is in Alabama if it helps get an answer to the question
