Topic: Problem tenants
How do we report these "non-rent paying" people,(can't even call them tenants, because tenants pay rent), to the credit bureau once we evict them. Please advise. Thanks, Terri

Problem Tenants

Terri, I have been in the process of evicting tenants for non payment. One of the questions I had for my attorney was exactly that "How do we report them to the credit bureau"? His answer was "we don't". If we were Master Card of Visa or a major lending company we would be able to, we aren't. The truth of the matter is landlords have absolutly no rights and the deadbeats know it. My property is in Rhode Island but we both have the same issue. These people are using us and we have our hands tied. The only thing we can try to do in our respective states is form groups of landlords and try to change some of the laws that the bleeding hearts put in to place for these deadbeats.
